Ceramics Foundations: Texture Without Limits (Saturday November 11th 1-3:30pm)

What is the difference between form and surface? Between ornamentation and decoration? How do we design and build work that rewards the sense of touch? Clay preserves our smears, scrapes, stamps, nudges, and gouges perfectly— how do we best get the marks we want? And how do we best ask the glaze to tumble, break, and flow over those marks? This texture technical toolkit is designed to spark your creativity and expression. We will make stamps, roulettes, sprig molds and texture exploration tiles. Bring in textures that inspire you for discussion!
